Our multi-port serial cards are the backbone of a modern DNC system. Instead of sharing one port among many machines (like a manual switchbox, code activated switch, or MUX), these units provide a dedicated port to each and every CNC. This has several advantages, including:

You can transfer to all of your CNC's simultaneously, including drip feed
You never forget to set the switch (those of you with switchboxes know how often this happens)
Advanced features such as "remote requests" are not practical with a switchbox
When you add client seats to your DNC system, multiple computers on your network can send to different machines through the same multi-port serial card

When using PC-DNC plus, you will need to have a multi-port serial adapter if using more than one or two serial ports (or if your computer has no more internal ports available).

	The Quatech USB to Serial adapter product line is an easy to install option for those who do not want to bother with opening their computers (or have no available PCI slots, such as laptops or some "legacy free" PC's. Available with additional USB ports for other peripherals. Available in 1, 2, 4,8, and 16 port units. RYM only supports these devices on computers running Windows 2000 or XP. All Quatech USB to Serial adapters come with a 5 year manufacturer's warranty. Available with built in surge suppression. Quatech USB-RS232 adapters are best suited for customers who: Have their DNC computer located no further than 250' from any CNC Will use Windows 2000 or XP on their DNC computer Will not drip feed more than 16 CNC's at the same time.

	These are ideal serial ports for laptops with no serial port built in. Available in 1, 2 and 4 port models. Compatible with Windows 98, 2000, and XP. Quatech PCMCIA cards are best suited for customers who: Have laptops with no serial ports Do not wish to carry an external box (such as a USB adapter)
