Although switchboxes have been declining in use
over the last decade, they are still available and practical for some
applications. If you only have one or two machines with occasional
transfers of files, switchboxes are an economical alternative to using a
multi-port serial card. Of course, you can still get switchboxes which
handle up to 18 ports as well if you require a replacement for a
previous unit. Because of the wide variety of switchboxes available, it
is best to contact us directly at (408) 224-9167 so we can identify the
proper unit for your needs. Custom switchboxes may be available upon
request. If you are going to use a fully
automatic DNC package, such as
PC-DNC plus, you
will need to use a multi-port serial card instead of a switchbox. We
have a full selection of serial devices which connect through PCI slots,
PCMCIA ports, USB ports, and over Ethernet networks. Look at our
Multi-Port Serial Cards page for more
information. |
