The latest buzz in the DNC world is
around the concept of wireless. By combining our proven line of Ethernet
to RS232 adapters with Wi-Fi compliant chipsets we can offer a
fully-integrated wireless-to-RS232 solution! Many of our competitors
use an external bridge attached to their wired model hardware
internally. Unlike those solutions, our units require only one IP
address and one management interface, which greatly simplifies
installation.
Wireless is not an ideal
solution for everyone. The nature of a CNC is that it tends to stay in a
relatively fixed location, and requires lines of other types
(electrical, air) run to in anyway. For some customers, though, wireless
can be a useful resource to solve a specific problem. Some of the
ways wireless is typically implemented by our customers include:
- To use as a backup port that can be carried to
a newly installed or moved CNC until the cable is run
- To use as a portable shared port in instances
where the cost of wiring all machines individually outweighs the
benefit
Because of the many variables in this type of
setup, it is best to call us at (408)224-9167 and discuss your
application personally. At that point we will explain your options and
the benefits of each, as tailored to your specific needs. |
